Nico Rosberg says nothing less than pole at Monza will suffice

Nico Rosberg admits nothing less than pole position at Monza will suffice as he looks to overcome a 28-point deficit in the championship.

The German seemingly had an edge on team-mate Lewis Hamilton during Friday practice at Spa two weeks ago, but when it mattered in qualifying it was the other Mercedes driver who secured pole position.

Only once this year has Rosberg beaten Hamilton in qualifying despite being dominant in the Saturday battle last year and the German knows that is an area he needs to improve.

"The race in Spa was definitely disappointing. My start was not good so I need to work on that and also on finding those extra tenths in qualifying to get back on top there," Rosberg said.
