SpursTechnical director Franco Baldini leaves Tottenham

The Italian technical director has left White Hart Lane after a mixed spell in which he oversaw the restructuring of the squad following Gareth Bale's transfer

Technical director Franco Baldini has left his role at Tottenham, the club announced on Monday.

Baldini joined Spurs in 2013, working with manager Andre Villas-Boas as the club looked to restructure their playing staff following the transfer of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid.

The Italian recruited a number of players that initially flattered to decieve, before finally settling in at White Hart Lane under current manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Baldini's signings include Nacer Chadli, Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela, who scored in the 4-1 win over Manchester City on Saturday.

But some of the Italian's less savvy transfer moves include the signings of Etienne Capoue, Paulinho and Roberto Soldado, who have subsequently been shown the exit door by manager Pochettino.

Before his most recent spell at Tottenham, the 54-year-old worked in a similar role at Roma and was assistant manager to Fabio Capello with the England national team.
