Efe Ambrose invited for Nigeria friendlies

Ambrose invited for Nigeria games
Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh has invited Celtic defender Efe Ambrose for the international friendlies against DR Congo and Cameroon in Belgium owing to injury suffered by Kenneth Omeruo.

This was disclosed by the Nigeria Football Federation via their Twitter handle.

Kasimpasa’s Omeruo was replaced by Vasil Bozhikov with nine minutes to regulation time in their 1-1 draw versus Rizespor in a Turkish topflight encounter on Monday.

This will be first time Efe would be invited to the senior national team since the country’s failure to qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations staged in Equatorial Guinea.

13,000 capacity multi-purpose Stadium, Stade Charles Tondreau – home of former Belgian league side R.A.E.C Mons will be the battle ground when the Super Eagles slug it out with DR Congo on October 8.

Three days later, Sunday Oliseh’s men will head for Denderleeuw where they face arch rivals Cameroon at the 12,000 capacity Stade Van Roy.
