Tennis:Great Britain drawn against Japan in 2016 Davis Cup first round

Great Britain have been drawn at home to Japan in the first round of next year's Davis Cup.

Andy Murray and his team-mates face Belgium in the 2015 final in Ghent from November 27-29.

Their opponents on March 4-6 will be the Japanese, who could include world No 6 Kei Nishikori in their team.

But Britain can otherwise go into the match with some confidence. Japan's next highest-ranked player is Go Soeda, the world No 115.

If Britain progress through their World Group opener, things will get considerably tougher.

Novak Djokovic's Serbia or Kazakhstan await in the second round. Switzerland - who can include Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka - are in the same half of the draw.

First round ties (home teams named first):

Great Britain v Japan

Serbia v Kazakhstan

Italy v Switzerland

Poland v Argentina

France v Canada

Germany v Czech Republic

Australia v United States

Belgium v Croatia
