Jordanne Whiley became the first British woman to win a wheelchair singles title after defeating her doubles partner Yui Kamiji at the US Open.
The pair have won six major titles in the doubles together but Whiley came out on top in three sets to secure a maiden title in the singles event.
Whiley, 23, playing in her first singles Grand Slam, defeated the world No 3 and defending champion 6-4 0-6 6-1 at Flushing Meadows.
