Cricket for Heroes: MS Dhoni and Brian Lara to play in Oval fundraiser

MS Dhoni, Brian Lara and Brendon McCullum will join other world-class stars at the Kia Oval on Thursday for the inaugural international Help for Heroes fundraiser, Cricket for Heroes.

The event will raise money for the charity which offers support to men and women who have been injured while serving their country.

A Help for Heroes XI, captained by England Director of Cricket Andrew Strauss and managed by Sir Ian Botham, will be pitted against a Rest of the World XI.

The game will be preceded by a Twenty20 match between the Help for Heroes Cricket Club and the England Physical Disability Team.

Dhoni said: "I am delighted to be joining so many cricketing superstars at the Kia Oval on Thursday September 17 and supporting such a worthy cause.

"I've always enjoyed playing cricket in England and I would urge all sports fans to support Help for Heroes and watch some truly world class performers in action."
