Barca still felt Xavi and Pedro departure.

Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal have joined the Catalan club this summer but won't feature until January and the squad looks less strong than the one that won the treble
This has been an atypical transfer window for Barcelona. Not only has the club been unable to register new signings due to the ban imposed by Fifa, but they have also lost two of their most popular players with the departures of Xavi and Pedro.

While those two have left, Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal have joined, although they will have to wait until January to make their Barca debuts due to the transfer ban which means the club cannot field any new players in 2015. Two quality footballers who will add strength in depth and also be in contention for first-team places once the New Year arrives.

The Turkey midfielder joins from Atletico Madrid, where he was one of the leaders in a squad that claimed a league title, a Europa League crown and a Copa del Rey over the last four years, as well as reaching the Champions League final in Lisbon last year. His superb technique has cost Barca €34 million and should make his transition a smooth one as Luis Enrique's men move towards even more of a counter-attacking style in 2015-16.

Aleix Vidal, meanwhile, arrives to compete with Dani Alves for the right-back role. The Brazilian has had no real competition in that position since he joined seven years ago, but will need to be on his toes after Barca paid €18m to Sevilla for the Catalan wide man, who can also operate as a winger.
