Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is set to undergo surgery on his left leg this week that could keep him out until late December.
The 23-year-old suffered a hairline fracture of his fibula following a heavy collision during pre-season training in August and manager Arsene Wenger had hoped he would return to action after the international break.
But Wenger admitted last week that Wilshere had suffered a “little setback” in his recovery and he is now set to go under the knife following the recommendation of a specialist.
