Tom Brady leads Patriots to win over Colts in Deflategate re-match

Tom Brady answered his critics by throwing for 312 yards and three touchdowns as New England took advantage of a botched fake punt by the Colts in their 34-27 victory over Indianapolis on Sunday night.

The Patriots improved to 5-0 for the first time since 2007 in the first meeting between the rivals since the 'Deflategate' storm erupted after the AFC title game in January.

Brady was handed a four-game ban by the NFL for his alleged involvement that day, which was later dismissed by a federal court.

And for two quarters, the teams traded blows before Brady and the Patriots seized control in the second half.

Brady's 25-yard touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowksi gave New England a 27-21 lead before the Colts made a complete mess of an attempted fake punt from their own 37-yard line with 1:12 left in the third quarter.

That prompted a scrambling Brady to eventually find LeGarrette Blount for an 11-yard scoring pass that made it 34-21.

Brady completed 23 of 37 passes for 312 yards and one interception, which was returned for a touchdown, while Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, in his first start since sustaining a shoulder injury on September 27, finished 30-for-50 for 312 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.
