Top seed Simona Halep will face Maria Sharapova in the group stage of next week's WTA Finals in Singapore.
Friday's draw saw the Romanian, who heads the field following the withdrawal of world No 1 Serena Williams, placed in the red group along with Sharapova, Agnieszka Radwanska and US Open champion Flavia Pennetta.
The opposing group is led by Wimbledon runner-up Garbine Muguruza and also features Petra Kvitova, Angelique Kerber and Lucie Safarova, the last of the qualifiers who only booked her spot on Thursday.
