Police arrest five after Sevilla fans attacked in Manchester
Officers from the Greater Manchester Police force were called to an incident on Exchange Square on Wednesday afternoon, which left one man in need of treatment for a head injury
Five men have been arrested in Manchester after a group of Sevilla fans were attacked a city centre bar, police have confirmed.
One man was treated for a head injury at the scene after clashes broke out near Sinclair's Oyster Bar on Exchange Square just before 15:30 local time.
Reports initially suggested that the aggressors were from Poland, possibly supporters of Slask Wroclaw, and Greater Manchester Police confirmed that "three Polish football fans" were arrested following the incident outside Sinclair's.
The Sevilla fans were in Manchester ahead of their important Champions League clash against Manchester City on Wednesday evening.
Both teams have three points from their opening two games, having both lost to Juventus, and face each other home and away in the next two weeks.
