Aguero on track for Manchester City return, says Manuel Pellegrini.

The Argentina international sustained a hamstring injury during his country's defeat to Ecuador earlier this month but his manager has revealed his recovery is progressing well

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that Sergio Aguero could return to action next month.

Aguero, who has scored eight goals in all competitions thus far this season, injured his hamstring during Argentina's World Cup qualifying defeat to Ecuador on October 9.

The 27-year-old was forced off mid-way through the first-half and was subsequently ruled out for around four weeks, with Pellegrini confirming that his rehabilitation is progressing well.

"Sergio is improving from his injury," said the Chilean. "But he has some time more to be a 100 per cent.

"The injury at the moment is exactly the same situation as the last games. Obviously Gael Clichy, Fabian Delph, Samir Nasri and Sergio Aguero are missing."

City face Crystal Palace in the League Cup fourth-round on Wednesday.
