Tennis:Joao Sousa wins title at Valencia Open after defeating Roberto Bautista Agut

Joao Sousa has secured his second career title at the Valencia Open after battling back to defeat Roberto Bautista Agut.

The Portuguese world No 46 dropped the first set, but produced a determined response to complete a 3-6 6-3 6-4 win.

Agut was broken on four occasions by Sousa, who also won their only previous meeting in Croatia earlier this year.

He was the third homegrown runner-up in as many years, following fellow Spaniards Tommy Robredo and David Ferrer in falling at the final hurdle.

Sousa dropped only one set on the way to the final, his seventh on the ATP Tour, and the Valencia title follows his only other success in Kuala Lumpur in 2013.

"Congratulations to Roberto for his match, because I also know how tough it is to play at home," he said. "He is my friend and I am very sorry."
