The Solid Miners got the deserved result for their monstrous second stanza form with a ticket to the continent while the Blue Angels sank to the lower league
HEARTLAND 2-1 EL KANEMI WARRIORS
The Naze Millionaires managed to beat the Borno Army in a feisty clash in Owerri to end the season in seventh place ahead of defending champions, Kano Pillars.
Two quick goals in the first half through Fortune Omoniwari and Emeka Ogbugh set Heartland on the path of victory but El Kanemi ensured it ended very tough for the home team after impressive defender, Chinedu Ohanachom reduced the arrears in the second half.
Heartland finished the campaign seventh on the log with 56 points from 38 matches while El Kanemi were 13th on the table with 49 points from 38 games.

The Oluyole Warriors were almost beaten at home at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan by the visitors, Dolphins on Sunday before a late Cletus Itodo’s strike salvaged a point for the Ibadan side.
3SC deservedly shot into the lead through the spot kick of Tope Orelope in the 21st minute but Dolphins fought back gamely and scored two goals through Ifeanyi Egwin to almost change the tide of result. Itodo’s late strike saved Oluyole Warriors blushes.
The draw was enough to keep Dolphins in the top flight after Sharks-the other Rivers’ team lost 0-1 to Abia Warriors to bid the premier league bye. Dolphins finished the season 16th on the log with 45 points from 38 matches while 3SC are ninth on the log with 53 points from 38 matches.
NASARAWA UNITED 2-0 GIWA
The Solid Miners’ resilience at the start of the second stanza was repaid with continental ticket after they pipped the Plateau Elephants to the feat on the final day of the season in Lafia.
Even though the match was abandoned before the end of the first half after Giwa FC players chose not to continue after already being two goals and two men down. Two Jos side’s players- Ojo Olorunleke and Amos Gyang received red cards for unsporting conduct. Gyang was alleged to have slapped the ball boy while Ojo was said to have assaulted one of the match officials.
Before the abrupt end to the match, Nasarawa United got their goals through Ugochukwu Leonard and Philip Auta. They will end the season in third place with 63 points from 38 matches after League Management Company(LMC)’s ratification while Giwa slipped to fifth with 63 points from 38 games.
KWARA UNITED 2-0 FC IFEANYIUBAH
The Harmony Warriors rounded off their stay in the elite division with a home win against the Anambra Warriors in Ilorin.
Ossy Martins and Segun Alebiosu netted for the Ilorin side as they ended the campaign 18th on the log with 42 points from 38 matches while FC IfeanyiUbah would rue their second stanza capitulation after starting the season with lots of ambition. They were 11th on the log with 50 points from 38 games.
ABIA WARRIORS 1-0 SHARKS
The Umuahia side refused to be swayed into any accord arrangement after they beat the Blue Angels 1-0 to end their foes stay in the elite division since 2007. Olaha Michael with the goal in the 81st minute through Ifeanyi Onyeali’s assist on goal.
Abia Warriors thus ended the season in 10th spot with 53 points from 38 matches while Sharks narrowly dropped to the lower league with 45 points from 38 games. They were 17th on the log.
ENUGU RANGERS 3-1 BAYELSA UNITED
The Flying Antelopes laid all worries about their continued stay in the premier league to bed on Sunday after they came from a goal down to beat the Restoration Boys 3-1 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
Bayelsa United shocked the home fans with the opening goal in the 39th minute but a brace from Home based Eagles’ striker, Osas Okoro and another from Bobby Clement changed the result in favour of the hosts.
Rangers thus ended the season 12th on the log with 49 points from 38 matches while Bayelsa United were last on the table despite a valiant battle with 34 points from 38 games.
AKWA UNITED 1-0 LOBI STARS
It was the dress rehearsal of the 2015 Federation Cup final which holds on Sunday between both teams in Lagos and the Promise Keepers gained an early advantage after they pipped the Pride of Benue 1-0 in Uyo.
Abdulafeez Awakan with the solitary goal of the match in the 21st minute of the tie. The win kept Akwa United in the elite division as they finished the season with 47 points from 38 matches. They were 15th on the log while Lobi ended the campaign 14th on the log with 47 points from 38 games too.
WIKKI TOURISTS 2-0 KANO PILLARS
Sadly for the Bauchi side they narrowly missed a place on the continent by mere goals difference to Nasarawa United.
Wikki did the needful beating Pillars 2-0 through the goals of Victor Yakubu and Hamza Tiya in the 53rd and 67th minutes of the match. They ended the season fourth on the log with 63 points- the same number of point accumulated by Nasarawa United and Giwa FC.
Pillars ended a disastrous season in eighth on the log with 55 points from 38 games.
SUNSHINE STARS 0-0 ENYIMBA
The Akure Gunners’ late resurgence couldn’t take them to anywhere as they finished the season sixth on the log with 61 points from 38 matches after they were held to a goalless draw on the final day of the season by champions, Enyimba.
Sunshine needed only a win against the People’s Elephants while hoping that Nasarawa United would take care of Giwa FC in Lafia but Owena waves were unable to achieve their own part of the bargain despite the Solid Miners’ win against Giwa FC.
Enyimba set a new mark of 70 points from 38 matches to end the season as league champions. It is the first time a club will be ending the season with that number of point since the premier league started.
