Novak Djokovic continued his progression through the Shangai Rolex Masters with a third-round win over Feliciano Lopez.
Having won the top prize at the China Open in Beijing last week, the world No 1 is into the quarter-finals in Shanghai as he aims for consecutive Chinese titles.
He swept aside Lopez 6-2 6-3 and will now play either Richard Gasquet or Bernard Tomic in the final eight.
Lopez was forced to save four break points in the opening game, a sign of things to come, as Djokovic eventually secured consecutive breaks to take the first set.
Djokovic wasted a pair of match points against the serve but then roared through his final service game to tie up a one-sided win.
Djokovic conserved his energy for the next round, needing just an hour and 14 minutes to dispatch Lopez.
Rafael Nadal defeated Milos Raonic 6-3 7-6 to also advance in Shanghai, while Kevin Anderson upset sixth seed Kei Nishikori 7-6 7-6.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga beat Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-7 7-5 6-4 before Stan Wawrinka edged Marin Cilic 7-5 6-7 6-4.
