Klopp's assistant Buvac arrives in Liverpool

The German boss' right hand man from Dortmund will begin work imminently with the Anfield club

Jurgen Klopp’s trusted assistant Zeljko Buvac has arrived in Liverpool and will get straight to work.

The 54-year-old, who the German manager refers to as “his brain,” will be part of Wednesday afternoon’s training session at Melwood. The workout is scheduled for 4pm.

Buvac has been Klopp’s right-hand man at both Mainz and Borussia Dortmund. The duo also played together at the former for three years.

Peter Krawietz, another important ally to the Reds boss, has already been assessing the squad in West Derby. On his assistants, Klopp explained to the club’s official website: “They are football maniacs. They work pretty hard and they are my perfect partners in this job, because as a manager you always have to make decisions and always have to think about so many different things.

“In my opinion, it’s very important that you have somebody you can talk to. We can talk about everything. I make the decisions, of course, but I need very good people around me.”
