Andy Murray is facing one of his toughest first-round matches ever at a Grand Slam after being drawn against Nick Kyrgios at the US Open, says Annabel Croft.
The British No 1 has been handed a dangerous opening encounter against the controversial Australian at the New York tournament, starting next week.
Kyrgios, the current world No 37, has lost his three previous matches against Murray, with two defeats coming at this year's Australian and French Open.
But wins over Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal have highlighted the threat posed by the talented 20-year-old and Croft believes Murray has been pitted against one of the most perilous opponents possible.
