Juventus equal Serie A clean sheet record

Juventus equal Serie A clean sheet record
Only the Bianconeri themselves and Milan have ever gone nine games without conceding a single goal in the league, and Buffon could break the individual record in his next game

Another shutout for Juventus saw the Italian giants equal the Serie A record for most consecutive clean sheets against Atalanta.

Gianluigi Buffon was once more unbeatable in the Bianconeri goal, as the side strengthened their Scudetto chances with a 2-0 win in Bergamo.

The veteran goalkeeper has now gone nine games in a row without picking the ball out of the net, equalling a milestone held by Juventus themselves as well as Milan.

Inter have also achieved the mark, but across two seasons.

Antonio Cassano was the last man to defeat 'Gigi', in the 63rd minute of Sampdoria's 2-1 defeat back on January 10.

And now Buffon has another record in his sights.

Unbeaten for 843 minutes, the shot-stopper could overtake Dino Zoff, who went 903 minutes without conceding a goal in the 1972/3 season.

Former Milan 'keeper Sebastian Rossi holds the overall individual record, with a run of 929 minutes in 1992/3.
