'Arsenal & Manchester City are out of the Premier League title race',says Koeman

Leicester have restored their five-point lead at the top of the table with Monday's 1-0 win over Newcastle United

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman believes Arsenal and Manchester City are now out of the Premier League title race.

Leicester City took another step closer to glory with a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United which has restored their five-point advantage over Tottenham at the top of the table.

And Koeman claims both City and the Gunners will struggle to overturn their gap.

“Eleven points from Arsenal, twelve from Manchester City - they are out of the title,” he told Sky Sports.

“And it will be a fight between Tottenham and Leicester. And that makes, in my opinion, the difference between before the game, this result.

“Still Tottenham are close, but still it’s a fight between two teams, before this game it was a fight between four or five, and that’s the difference that begins to run in your mind, if you’re a Leicester player.”
