Boxing:Nigel Benn says Lucas Browne will halt Ruslan Chagaev on Saturday
Nigel Benn believes Lucas Browne can stop Ruslan Chagaev and then take on Anthony Joshua in a world title unification fight.
Australia's Browne (23-0-KO20) travels to Grozny, Russia to take on WBA world heavyweight champion Uzbek Chagaev (34-2-1-KO21) on Saturday night.
But former two-weight world champion Benn, who has been in camp with 'Big Daddy' Browne, believes the trip holds no fear for his friend and is hoping an emphatic victory can result in a potentially lucrative bout against Joshua.
I honestly believe Browne will stop Chagaev. Then I'd like him to fight Anthony Joshua.
Benn told Sky Sports: "He's been training with Rodney Williams, my trainer and he's the best trainer in the world. Just different class. Lucas has changed so much.
"I'm only his cheerleader but I'm trying to take him to another level. He wants to do things his way. He's a lovely man and the training is all down to Rodney and not me; I want to be very clear on that.
"I'm trying to give him motivation but Williams is the best trainer I've ever come across and he's changing Lucas so much. I honestly believe Browne will stop Chagaev. Then I'd like him to fight Anthony Joshua.
"I just want him to make some money because he's a lovely man."
Chagaev won the vacant crown when he defeated Fres Oquendo by majority decision in July 2014, going on to defend it a year later with a first-round stoppage of Francesco Pianeta.
