Eagles land in Alexandria for Egypt showdown
Nigeria national team arrived Alexandria on Tuesday evening as they get set face Egypt in Tuesday’s blockbuster Africa Cup of Nations qualifier encounter billed for the Borg El-Arab Stadium.
The team led by NFF President Amaju Pinnick arrived the north African nation few days after being held by the Pharaohs to a 1-1 draw at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
On arrival, the team was received by a team of Nigerian Embassy officials led by ambassador Mohammed Maccido, who expressed his delight at their safe arrival and admonished them to make the country proud.
However coach Samson Siasia has vowed that his team would gun for victory against the hosts.
“We know we have no choice but to win, so we will go all out,” said Siasia.
“There is no alternative. All the players are aware of that fact and whoever gets to play tomorrow will fight very hard for the country.”
Following Chad’s withdrawal from the qualifiers, only one team would qualify from Group G of the qualifying series.
