The former Manchester United favourite believes that Jurgen Klopp's men have the attacking quality to mount a serious title challenge this season
Paul Scholes has tipped Liverpool to challenge for the Premier League title in 2016-17 on the back of their positive start to the season.
Jurgen Klopp's men have taken 13 points from their opening six games and sit fourth in the standings at the end of September.
And former Manchester United star Scholes believes they have enough goals in the team to mount a serious title challenge.
"Liverpool look like they're a team who can win the league," he told BT Sport. "I think it's a big test for United to go there [on October 17] and try and get something out of the game.
"I think they'd take a draw now. I was a little bit worried about them defensively but you have to say, the attacking quality they're showing at the minute, they look like they're going to score goals against anybody.
"I hope they don't [win the league]!"
