Emulate Edo voters, APC begs Ondo people

THE All Progressives Congress has called on the people of Ondo State to emulate the electorate in Edo State, who voted against the emergence of a Peoples Democratic Party-led government in the South-South state.

The APC maintained that the people of Edo State had made the right choice by voting in Mr. Godwin Obaseki as their governor, adding that the governor-elect would continue the good work of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Rivers State Chairman of the APC, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, said in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistance on Media and Public Affairs, Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, congratulated those who made the election in Edo peaceful.

Ikanya also urged Obaseki to embrace Oshiomhole’s developmental vision and continue with the provision of democracy dividends for his people.

He said, “We urge the great people of Ondo State to emulate the Edo people during their own gubernatorial election and save their people from the dying and destroying PDP spirit.

“There is no doubt that Edo people have made the right choice because Mr. Godwin Obaseki is the best man for the job.

“INEC, the security agencies, the Edo State Government and the great people of Edo State have proved that with commitment and proper planning, we can make our country great and even export our brand of democracy to other African countries.

“We are so pleased with the functionality of the card reader machines and believe that the National Assembly should set in motion the machinery for a law formally approving electronic voting for future elections in all parts of the country,” Ikanya said.

The Rivers State APC chairman hailed Oshiomhole and the APC faithful in Edo for defeating the Igbinedions and Raymond Dokpesis in their various local government areas.
