Cricket:Virat Kohli misses T20 series against Sri Lanka

Virat Kohli takes a break ahead of World T20 which starts in India next month
Virat Kohli will miss the forthcoming three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka, as India give their batting star a rest ahead of this year's Twenty20 World Cup.

Kohli, the world's top-ranked Twenty20 batsman, enjoyed a prolific run of form as India completed a 3-0 series whitewash over Australia on Sunday.

India are hosting this year's World T20 which starts in early March and Kohli is expected to play a major role for the former champions.

As for the Sri Lanka series, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been recalled following a thumb injury while left-arm spinner Pawan Negi is called-up for the first time.

Pune stages the opening T20 match on February 9.

Squad: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Manish Pandey, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Ashish Nehra, Harbhajan Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Pawan Negi.
