Cycling:Shane Sutton critical of Katie Archibald after motorbike injury

Katie Archibald will miss next month's World Championships with injury suffered in motorbike crash
Shane Sutton has criticised Katie Archibald's decision making after she was ruled out of the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in London.

The Scot is not yet 100 per cent after suffering knee ligament injuries when she came off her motorbike while riding in wet conditions in December.

Archibald said in an interview last weekend she had made a "stupid error" in the high-speed crash and British Cycling technical director Sutton feels it was an injury that could easily have been avoided.

She has since said her motorbike will be put away until after the Olympic Games in Rio this summer.

Sutton said in the Telegraph: "I was a bit shocked to say the least.

"That was a really bad choice on her part but it's not for us to sit here and tell her she can't ride a motorbike. They are grown-ups. They have a life to live. And of course you could get hit by a car riding your bike.

"These things happen. But life is about choices. And the choices you make will govern your outcome. And she made a bad choice there. Inexperienced, raining, riding your motorbike... crazy."
