Boxing:Sergey Kovalev wants Adonis 'Chickenson' Stevenson before facing Andre Ward

Sergey Kovalev made it clear he wants to fight Adonis Stevenson before facing Andre Ward following their post-fight clash.

The IBF, WBA and WBO light-heavyweight world champion retained his titles stopping bitter rival Jean Pascal at the end of the seventh round in Montreal, Canada on Saturday night.

Both Stevenson and Ward were ringside and the WBC light-heavyweight champion climbed into the ring and had to be held back after The Krusher called him 'Chickenson' and made clucking sounds when asked who he wants next.

"Sure, I want to unify all four titles," Kovalev told HBO's Max Kellerman. "I would like to fight Adonis 'Chickenson'."

Stevenson hit straight back, calling himself "the real champ" and going face-to-face with the Russian in a Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder style post-fight showdown.

Kovalev refused to get involved but admitted that he not only wants to become the undisputed light-heavyweight world champion, but wants to take on former super-middleweight supremo Ward before the end of the year.

"We will be very happy if this fight happens... Just take your time," he told Ward when November was suggested.

Kovalev (29-0-1-KO26) also claimed Pascal lost a $50,000 bet when trainer Freddie Roach pulled him out after the seventh round.

The challenger had labelled the Russian fighter "a racist" in the build-up to their rematch and although Pascal gave him credit for doing "a better job" this time, their animosity did not come to an end.

"He is not polite to anyone and he doesn't respect other fighters - or doesn't respect anyone," said Kovalev.

"Everybody said 'kick his ass'. Yes, I would've fought more rounds and making him feel more pain, punish him more. But he was stopped before the eight round so he lost the bet, $50,000

"I don't respect him at all. He is not a nice person and everybody knows that."
