GOSSIPS: Barcelona activate Bundesliga star's €37m release clause

The Spanish champions have agreed to pay the clause for one of the brightest prospects in German football, who has also committed to a six-year contract

Barcelona have decided to pay the €37 million release clause required to sign Leroy Sane from Schalke, according to reports.

L’Equipe claim that the 20-year-old midfielder, who is also wanted by Manchester City and Real Madrid, has also agreed a six-year contract with the Spanish champions and will join them in July.

Earlier in January, Goal revealed that Schalke were using City’s interest in order to trigger a bidding war for one of the Bundesliga’s brightest prospects.

Meanwhile, despite the latest report from France, Schalke’s general manager Horst Heldt insisted on Tuesday that Sane does not have a release clause.
