Mourinho gestures '4-0' to Man Utd fans in further apology for Chelsea disaster

The former Chelsea boss was left red-faced by his ex-charges in a one-sided defeat, and he was still trying to make up for it at the final whistle at Old Trafford

Jose Mourinho's humbling return to Stamford Bridge on Sunday has clearly left its mark on the manager, as he apologised again for the capitulation after Manchester United's League Cup victory over Manchester City.

The Special One left a special note in the pre-match programme at Old Trafford to make amends with Red Devils fans after going down heavily to Chelsea.

And after Juan Mata secured derby success, the manager was at it again on the pitch.

As the final whistle blew, Mourinho gestured '4-0' to the home faithful.

He followed that up with a bow of the head and by clasping his hands in prayers, a further act of contrition.

The ex-Real Madrid and Chelsea boss will have a further chance to make amends on Saturday, when United welcome Burnley to Old Trafford in a must-win Premier League clash.
