Penaldo! How many of Cristiano Ronaldo's goals are penalties?

The Portugal international is renowned for scoring plenty of efforts from 12 yards, but exactly how do his numbers tally up?

Saturday was a special occasion for Cristiano Ronaldo, as the Real Madrid striker celebrated breaking the milestone of 350 league goals against Alaves.

Ronaldo back in the groove - but Morata must start ahead of Benzema

The Portugal international converted one penalty, missed another and netted twice again for good measure to mark a hat-trick against the Basques.

But just how many goals, exactly, does the star actually score courtesy of the penalty spot?

Exactly 20 per cent of all his La Liga goals have come from 12 yards, with Ronaldo netting 53 of his 265 Madrid league efforts with penalties.

That percentage then drops significantly for the Champions League: 10 out of his 80 strikes, or 12.5% in Europe.

Taking the Copa del Rey into account (three out of 21, a total of 14.3%), the striker has hit 66 out of his 371 Madrid goals from the spot.

That means that no less than 17.8% of his goals, or almost one in five, come through penalties.
