Murray-Bruce remembers parents with throwback photos

Senator Ben Murray-Bruce took time off politics and business on Thursday night to remember the days of his youth and his parents.

The business man and politician, who represents Bayelsa East in the Senate, is a vocal critic of the current administration, and frequently comments on major developments in the country.

On Thursday night, however, he opted to share photos from the 70s on Facebook, which showed the man who would become a Senator of the Federal Republic in youthful glory.
The break from politics came after the Senator criticised the current state of the country, suggesting that the size of the country’s government was partly responsible for the high level of poverty in the country.

He said, “India with 1.3 billion people has 29 states; Nigeria with 160 million has 36 states and an FCT. Is it any surprise we are broke? Do we need 36 states with governors, an assembly, LGAs, commissioners with the convoys, allowances and other perks that go along with these offices, not to talk of ministries? Not if we want to escape the poverty cycle
