WWE performer Paige is not having a great 24th birthday.
On Wednesday morning, her boyfriend and fellow WWE performer, Alberto Del Rio (Jose Rodriguez), was suspended 30 days effective Thursday for a violation of the company’s wellness policy.
A few hours later, the WWE announced Paige (Saraya-Jade Bevis) was also suspended 30 days effective Thursday for her own violation of the wellness policy.
Huh? What are the odds of that?
Paige is also the first woman to fail the WWE’s wellness policy, so there’s that.
The suspensions are four days before the WWE’s second biggest pay-per-view of the year, “SummerSlam.” Both wrestlers were not advertised to perform at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
I’m not going to jump to any conclusions as to how or why a couple managed to both get popped for failing the wellness policy on the same day. I’ll leave that to you guys and gals in the comments section.
To Vince McMahon’s credit, the suspensions are delayed a day, so technically Paige can say she wasn’t suspended on her actual birthday.
During last month’s WWE draft, Paige was drafted by “RAW” while Del Rio was drafted by “SmackDown,” splitting up the couple on the road as a result.
At least they can spend the next 30 days at home — together.
