They might not be fighting each other in the ring any time soon, but the Twitter sparring that has erupted betweenboxing pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather and Amir Khan has been hugely entertaining.
Khan wasn't too happy with the snub and accused Mayweather on Twitter of "running scared."
Mayweather stirred the pot even more with the following tweets, suggesting that if Khan and Broner fight on the undercard on May 3, then he would fight Khan—but only if the Englishman prevailed.
I don't have an easy fight on May 3, 2014, so I can't over look@ChinoMaidana but @AmirKingKhan, if you and@AdrienBroner end up fighting...
Khan did not mince his words in his reply to Mayweather:
Khan gave up a shot at Devon Alexander's world title belt in December thinking he had landed the big fight against Mayweather. Now, he might just have to consider fighting Broner on the undercard if it places him in the best negotiating position to get at shot at Floyd. In the meantime, Mayweather is having some fun at his expense on social media, and Broner also jumped on that bandwagon with this message for the fighter: "Khan ain't sh-t!!!!!"
