Bayern Munich and EA Sports announce global partnership
The new collaboration around FIFA 17 was announced in New York ahead of the German champions' match against Real Madrid on Wednesday

Bayern Munich and EA Sports have announced a comprehensive global partnership, which was officially revealed today at a special event in New York City.

The deal will include cross-marketing and a content-collaboration initiative that will improve the authenticity of Bayern Munich in the upcoming FIFA 17 game.

From facial scans of some of Bayern's most high-profile players to a more realistic depiction of Allianz Arena during games, the deal will help improve the experience for Bayern fans playing the game.

"We realize gaming is a powerful tool for reaching millions of engaged fans around the world," Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said. "We also know the size of the gaming community continues to rise.

"Therefore our partnership with EA Sports is a very important step for our future. Two leading global brands partnering ultimately brings tremendous value to our fans in Germany, the U.S., and worldwide."

FIFA 17 will be available in North America on September 27 and worldwide on September 29.
