Apologise to Buhari’s wife, lawmaker tells Fayose

Fayose, Aisha
A member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Ajibola Famurewa, has asked Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, to apologise to the President’s wife, Hajia Aisha Buhari, after her visit to the United States.

Fayose had claimed the wife of the President was wanted in the US in connection the Halliburton bribery scandal and dared her to visit the US.

Mrs. Buhari visited the US last week, less than two months after the governor’s allegation. And Famurewa, who said she didn’t travel to the US  to prove Fayose’s allegations wrong, called on the governor to apologise.

Famurewa, the representive of Atakumosa East/Atakumosa West, Ilesa East and Ilesa West Federal Constituency, made the call in a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Sunday.

The statement read in part, “Governor Ayo Fayose should thread the path of honor and apologise to the President’s wife, Aisha, for the spurious allegation against her and he should also apologise for lying to Nigerians.
