The Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo, on Saturday declared that the kingdom would continue to develop during his reign.
The monarch made this declaration during the celebration of Ekimogun Day and 10th anniversary of his coronation, held at the Oba Adesonoye Civic Centre, in Ondo town.
He said the town’s achievement was based on the solid foundation built by his predecessor, Oba Adedapo Adesanoye.
The Osemawe said, “Our community would not have been what it is now. Building on good foundation, we developed a programme which aims at sustaining and further accelerating the development of Ondo kingdom.”
In his remarks, former President Olusegun Obasanjo praised the monarch for his great achievements since he ascended the throne.
Obasanjo urged the monarch to intensify efforts on development of the town through agriculture, saying that was the only way to survive the current economic recession in the country.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, thanked the people of the town for standing by him during the state’s governorship election.
Similarly, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar, congratulated the Osemawe on his 10th coronation anniversary and celebration of Ekimogun festival.
He called for outstanding relationship between the people of Sokoto and the Ondo kingdom.
