Arsenal set Premier League record in win over West Brom

Arsenal set Premier League record in win over West Brom

Arsene Wenger's side edged their way to a 1-0 win at Emirates Stadium on Boxing Day, with Olivier Giroud stretching the Gunners' scoring run against the Baggies to 21 games

Arsenal returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Boxing Day, and in doing so set a top-flight record when it comes to netting against a single opponent.

The Gunners edged out West Brom 1-0 at Emirates Stadium, with Olivier Giroud helping to stretch a remarkable scoring sequence against the men from the Hawthorns.

Arsene Wenger clearly likes facing the Baggies, with his side having now found the target in 21 straight fixtures against a favoured foe.

No side in the top-flight can match that record, with the Gunners now in a league of their own.

Wenger will be hoping that there are further festive treats to come, with victory on Monday helping to keep his side within nine points of table-topping Chelsea.
