Mourinho leads worst Manchester United start since 2004

Mourinho leads worst Manchester United start since 2004

The Portuguese's latest result, a 1-1 draw against Arsenal, means his side have collected just 19 points from 12 games, leaving them sixth in the table

Jose Mourinho's Manchester United have only collected 19 points from their first 12 Premier League games this season - the club's worst start since the 2004-05 campaign.

Then, the Red Devils picked up 18 points under the leadership of Sir Alex Ferguson in a campaign that saw Chelsea - coincidentally then bossed by Mourinho - go on to win their maiden Premier League title.

The Portuguese, now in the Old Trafford dugout, has a record of five wins, four draws - including Saturday's 1-1 result against Arsenal - and three defeats in the Premier League.

Expected to challenge for the title at the start of the season, United currently sit in sixth, seven points behind leaders Liverpool who are due to face Southampton later on Saturday.
