Two security agencies, the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Security, on Wednesday, in Abuja, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to postpone the Saturday governorship election in Edo State.
They said the call was necessitated because of threat by those they referred to as insurgents and extremists, to cause mayhem in the country between September 12 and 13.
Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Don Awunah and Garba Abdullahi of the DSS, stated this at a short media briefing in Abuja.
